They Flock to Him

All the kids here have an attraction to my companion. They're always running up to him and want to listen to him. Haha it's so awesome, kinda like Jesus.

Weird, crazy and super awesome week. We were walking back from our house and we found a Boa constrictor on the sidewalk. It was super cool so naturally, I started messing with it. It was honestly super cool- they're pretty aggressive actually. It was really slimey looking.

This is only my companions 2nd week in the mission & we were walking down the sidewalk pretty fast and he hit his head on a roof of a house. The houses here are really short. He actually hit his head pretty hard, it kinda made my head hurt. It was right before church so we walk into the church and all the members told us he should go to the doctor, so we went and he had to get 3 stitches poor guy:( he is actually loving the mission, we work super, super hard and walk a ton we are always on the move. He had some pretty bad blisters but like every new missionary.

We are gonna have the best week ever because we are planning on putting 8 baptisms dates on the books with two families!!!! :)) so pumped
It's still always hot here!! Happy Birthday dad!!

Blisters, heat & Jungle

SUCH A COOL WEEk.

I forgot how much I liked to train a brand new greenie!!! Elder Farnworth is my new companion and he's so funny. I forgot about how weird this place is because it has just gotten so normal to me. A cockroach ran through the kitchen when I was making ramen and he freaked hahahha, it was his first one he has ever seen. It's really funny just because we are just polar opposite people. He is 6 6' sooooo... anyway I had a good time realizing its not the sameout here as it is in Utah.

Super cool, our lessons this week we have 12 good progressing people we are teaching. The lessons are always the best with new missionaries the spirit is always so strong even when the Spanish isn't all there.
We took a ton of pictures and had a ton of fun. Blisters, heat, and jungle is how I would describe this week.

Cambios

We had transfers!!! I'm actually kind of surprised I'm still in this area. I got asked to train Elder Farnworth from Mapleton, Utah. It's exciting this is the 2nd Elder I've trained in this area and it looks like I'll be here for 6 more months. It is a good thing I love this area.

This last Sunday was so special for me. Sandy, one of my recent converts, got to speak in sacrament about the Book of Mormon and love. It was incredible. So sweet to see how much she has changed and how happy she is!! I cried :) She shared her conversion story and how we found her. She was at a friend of her mothers house when she saw a Book of Mormon and asked if she could borrow it. Later that same DAY, she said angels had sent us, the missionaries, to her friend's house, where we contacted her. Anyway it was awesome and so cool to be able to see how much she has progressed!!

We had a talent show this week it was so fun I was dying the whole time, people sang, danced, rapped, and so many different things. I rapped a song by Eminem, it was so funny nobody saw it coming. Elder Reynoso cut my hair soooo we had to fix it... and we put lines in it for the rap. We  had 8 investigators come to the talent show and they had such a good time.

The work here is about to explode, I'm super excited and it's looking like it'll be a really fun cambio!
Caught an iguana too. LOL

Here's a pic of what our apartment looks like after a long day during the rainy season here in Tabasco. We put up Christmas lights in our apartment tambien!!

Cashed the Check

REAL highlight this week is my companion, Elder Reynoso got his cast off his leg this last week and now we are new men.

INCREDIBLE week.... amen to putting up Christmas lights in our appt.
It has been kind of hard to be to walk everywhere and find people how we usually do through references, when your companion's leg is broke, but we just had so many people fall in our path this week. The JAS or young single adults in our ward are super awesome we get so many references from them because we started a volleyball team basically. (yeah that's how Reynosos broke his leg) People think we are good mostly just because we know the rules and aren't super short hahaha

We had 4 investigators come to church this week :))

President Whitworth our new mission president started a tradition to live with an elder once every transfer. The first week he was in our district with one of the Elders. Cool experience.
In PMG, preach my gospel, there are Christlike attributes that they asked us to rate ourselves on how we feel we portray that attribute while we were in the MTC. I was looking over how I rated myself in some of the catagories (love, patience, diligence, etc..) and the numbers were all really high. I guess the MTC had me feeling a new level of confidence. I rerated myself again this last week now that I'm coming up on a year, and all of my self ratings were lower than before. I think I have better come to realize the extent of Christ's attributes and how short I really fall, although I feel I have grown. Point is, better understanding Christ's attributes naturally shows how much we need Him, but at the same time shows how important it is to strive and be better.
